MỖI NGÔI NHÀ

MỘT KÝ ỨC…
A home where East meets West, and memories meet the moment
Maison Mận-Đỏ was founded in 2017 — not from a deep-rooted passion for cuisine, but from a red plum tree in the front yard, and from a group of people waiting for someone to walk alongside them.
We — two Vietnamese-Swiss couples — returned home after years of living and working abroad, carrying with us a European way of life and a Vietnamese heart. Maison Mận-Đỏ began as a continuation of that journey, alongside our former team — those who helped build a space gently infused with memory.
Over time, our culinary style naturally took shape: from traditional Vietnamese to a fusion of Vietnamese and European — familiar yet refreshingly new.
It’s a reflection of who we are — nostalgic, simple, and always drawn to connection.
Maison Mận-Đỏ — “The Red Plum House” — is more than just a restaurant.
It is a place where moments linger, stories are shared, and flavors unfold at an unhurried pace.
From Turtle Lake, to Thảo Điền, to the Heart of Saigon
2016 – We lost our first location near Turtle Lake. Nearly 50 staff were still working with us. Not wanting to give up, we searched for a new place — and finally found a humble ground-floor house in Thảo Điền, with a red plum tree blooming in the front yard. There was something strangely familiar about it. That plum tree became our inspiration, and from it, we named the restaurant Maison Mận-Đỏ (“Maison” means “home” in French).
2017–2023 – Maison Mận-Đỏ in Thảo Điền became a cherished place for guests who sought quiet moments, nostalgia, and heartfelt hospitality.
2022 – A few months after the pandemic, we learned we would lose the lease again. The search began once more — this time, not just for a house, but for a place that truly belongs in the heart of Saigon.
November 2023 – We moved into a new house in Tân Định. Modest and quiet at first glance — but in the back garden stood a red plum tree, bearing fruit.
No one said a word.
We simply knew: Maison had found its home.
We cook like a family
We started as a small group. Then some left, others joined. With every change, we learned to listen, to adapt, and to grow together.
Those who stayed are not just staff — they are brothers, friends, and the ones who align most deeply with the culinary and life philosophy we believe in.
Each person brings to the kitchen a little memory, a little personal touch.
And from that, the menu gradually expanded — shaped by encounters, experiments, and countless meals made with heart.
Fusion is Not a Trend — It’s a Way of Life
Cuisine has no fixed origin. It wanders across regions, hides in memories, and transforms through generations — until we mistake it for something inherently our own.
To us, fusion is not a fashionable blend. It is a way to honor our Vietnamese roots, while opening our hearts to the world’s culinary heritage.
At Maison Mận-Đỏ, East and West sit at the same table — sometimes in harmony, sometimes in conversation — but always prepared with care and genuine inspiration.
No dish is entirely Western. No dish is purely Vietnamese. What you taste is a space in-between — subtle, surprising, and layered with meaning.
“Flowing water wears away stone; and food, too, must move with the current of life.”
Fusion, for us, is adaptability — not clinging to one form, but living with time, with people, and with the land we stand on.
Maison Mận-Đỏ today
Now in the heart of Saigon, we carry our story forward — not louder, but deeper. We welcome guests from all walks of life, creating moments that feel as heartfelt as a home-cooked meal, but elevated in presentation and experience.
Our mission is simple: To serve thoughtful fusion cuisine in a space that feels like home. To create dinners that linger in memory long after the table is cleared. To be a place of warmth — in flavor, in service, in soul.
